The 42nd Annual West Virginia State Mathematics Field Day will be held Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, at Fairmont State University in Fairmont. Operated and organized by the West Virginia State Mathematics Field Day Organization, the event is sponsored in part by the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium, the West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Reasoning Mind.
Thanks to collaboration by Fairmont State University and the City of Fairmont, students enrolled in Community Health Education at the University have had the opportunity to identify health and safety needs in Fairmont and are implementing projects to address those needs.
Fairmont State University Student Government Association senior class officers are working hand in hand with the Fairmont State Foundation to create a student-centered giving campaign to construct a veterans plaza on the main campus.
The Fairmont State University Reads program is preparing for its spring 2016 reading enrichment program.
The free program available to Marion County students in kindergarten through fourth grade will begin the week of Feb. 22. The after-school program will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Mondays in Room 215 of the Turley Student Services Center on FSU’s main campus. The sessions will continue each week through April 18.
